Cala Coffee Downtown

Cala Coffee Downtown is a specialty coffee shop and roastery located at 1826 3rd Ave N, Suite 101, in the heart of Birmingham, Alabama, founded by Josh and Melanie Cosio after a pandemic-era passion for home roasting coffee grew into a full business. The Downtown location opened in mid-2023, occupying the former Revelator Coffee space across from the Alabama Theatre, just months after the brand’s first brick-and-mortar café launched in Cahaba Heights. In addition to freshly roasted coffees sourced from Ethiopia, Brazil, and Colombia, the café partners with local vendors for pastries and breakfast tacos, hosts community events, and offers a mobile coffee cart for weddings and corporate events — all guided by the brand’s mission to “Create Good Days.”
