Ashlawn Farm Coffee (the cafe)

Ashlawn Farm Coffee is a warm, rustic café located at 455 Boston Post Road in Old Saybrook, Connecticut, near the Old Saybrook Train Station, founded in 2002 when owner Carol began roasting specialty coffee on her Connecticut family farm as a way to help sustain it. The café sources and roasts all of its own specialty coffees on-site at the farm’s roasting barn, carrying beans with organic, Rainforest Alliance, Fair Trade, and Café Femenino certifications, and serves a full menu of espresso drinks, baked goods, fresh salads, sandwiches, and pastries made daily in-house. What started as a small operation in a farm outbuilding has grown into a beloved community gathering spot, with all coffee production continuing at the original farm while the café serves the greater Old Saybrook area.
