Swell Joe Coffee is a surf-inspired, small-batch coffee roastery located at 17382 Coastal Highway in Lewes, Delaware, founded in Spring 2014 by Dave Vitella and Drew Johnson — two coastal Delaware surfers and entrepreneurs who bonded over a shared passion for community and adventure. The roastery sources beans from around the world, offering six signature roasts distributed to wholesale partners and online customers throughout the Delaware and Maryland coast. Swell Joe is known for its active local collaborations, including co-branded craft beers with Thompson Island Brewing Company and Crooked Hammock Brewery, cementing its role as a community-rooted staple of the Cape region.
