Founded in 2022 by Mohamed Jalloh and based in Washington, D.C., Jaliyaa Coffee Truck & Catering is a Black-owned, specialty mobile coffee brand rooted in African and Arab culture, serving ethically sourced African coffees, handcrafted espresso drinks, ceremonial matcha, teas, and fresh pastries across the DC, Maryland, and Virginia region. Inspired by the Mande griot tradition — storytellers who preserved culture across generations — the brand brings intentional hospitality to weddings, corporate events, brand activations, and community gatherings, with notable clients including Google and Disney. Committed to social impact, Jaliyaa donates 5% of all profits toward fighting food insecurity in African countries and Washington, D.C., while also empowering farmers through ethical sourcing, fair pricing, and long-term partnerships at origin.
