Academy Coffee ATL is a specialty coffee shop located at 1019 Virginia Ave NE in Atlanta’s Virginia-Highland neighborhood, founded by Connan Moody, who drew on his background in both barista work and mixology to create a uniquely crafted beverage experience. The shop operates as a multi-roaster café, sourcing beans from top domestic and international roasters on a rotating basis, while applying culinary and cocktail techniques to produce inventive espresso and tea drinks unlike those found at a traditional coffee shop. Open seven days a week, Academy Coffee has become a beloved neighborhood staple, with Moody’s deep engagement with Atlanta’s coffee community reflected in his expansion to a second location, Auxiliary Coffee, in the city’s West End.
