Portrait Coffee

Portrait Coffee is a Black-owned specialty coffee café and roastery located at 1065 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd in Atlanta’s historic West End neighborhood, founded by a group of longtime friends — including Fender and his wife Erin, John and Shawndra Onwuchekwa, Marcus Hollinger, and Khalid Smith — who launched the business through a successful Kickstarter campaign with a mission to reimagine specialty coffee through the lens of Black excellence. The café operates inside the historic Lottie Watkins building and offers award-winning single-origin coffees, blends, and signature drinks like the “Aunt Viv,” alongside pastries and merchandise. Rooted in community, Portrait Coffee is committed to shining a light on Atlanta’s West End and has partnered with local organizations and producers who share its values of transparency, representation, and shared growth.
