Encounter Café

Encounter Café is a small, family-owned coffee shop located at 223 N. Jefferson Street in Converse, Indiana, founded by a husband-and-wife team after 25 years of careers in public service. The café serves specialty coffee drinks, teas, frozen lemonades, and daily homemade breakfast pastries, along with a lunch menu featuring soups, paninis, and calzones. In addition to its food and beverage offerings, Encounter Café fosters community connection through its in-house Vixen Gallery showcasing local artists, a free take-a-book-leave-a-book shelf, and a dedicated kids’ area — making it a welcoming gathering spot for residents of all ages.
