Mansion Society

Mansion Society is a Latinx-owned, independent coffee shop located at 202 Steeples Blvd. in Indianapolis’ historic Hawthorne neighborhood on the city’s west side, operating out of the 1938 Victorian-style administration building on the grounds of the former Central State Hospital — a psychiatric facility that served the area for nearly 150 years before closing in 1994. Founded by the Lezama family, immigrants who have called Indianapolis home for over 15 years, the shop opened in late 2021 and is celebrated for its artisanal beverages — including house-made syrups and rotating seasonal lattes — fresh-baked pastries, and a thoughtfully curated vintage atmosphere sourced from thrift stores and estate sales.
