Try-Me Coffee Roasters

Founded in 1925 by Henry Kepler in the Bywater neighborhood of New Orleans, Try-Me Coffee Roasters is one of the city’s longest-running independent coffee roasters, operating for over a century from its original location at 1014 France Street. The fourth-generation business — now led by Lauren “Mermaid” McCabe and Abby King, who purchased it from the Kepler family in 2023 — roasts all coffee by hand, to order, using vintage equipment maintained for decades by a tight-knit team of community members, including master roaster Jerico Cyres and Willie Butler, each with over 30 years at the company. Try-Me supplies wholesale blends to iconic New Orleans establishments such as Angelo Brocato, Court of Two Sisters, and Cafe Degas, and offers retail options including local pickup, delivery across the metro area, and nationwide shipping.
