Met Coffee House & Fine Art Gallery
About
Met Coffee House & Fine Art Gallery is a coffee house, café, and fine art gallery located at 48 Main Street in downtown Freeport, Maine, owned and operated by Larry and Diane Flaherty. The original Met Coffee House first opened in North Conway, New Hampshire in 2002; the Flahertys purchased it in 2015, expanded to a second New Hampshire location, and opened the Freeport outpost in early 2022 after spotting an available space during a visit to the area. The café serves specialty coffees, teas, smoothies, breakfast sandwiches, salads, and flatbreads alongside rotating works by local artists displayed on its walls and available for purchase, and has demonstrated community spirit through initiatives such as offering free coffee and tea to veterans on Veterans Day.
