Old Fox Books & Coffeehouse

Old Fox Books & Coffeehouse is an independent bookstore and coffeehouse located at 35 Maryland Avenue in downtown Annapolis, MD, situated between the Maryland State House, the U.S. Naval Academy, and St. John’s College. Founded by co-owners Jinny Amundson and Janice Holmes, the shop opened on Small Business Saturday in 2016 — its name a nod to General George Washington’s nickname, “Old Fox” — and offers a curated selection of new and used books, specialty coffee, stationery, and gifts in a cozy two-story setting. Rooted in the belief that a bookstore should serve as a community gathering place, Old Fox has become a beloved Annapolis institution that draws a diverse clientele of locals, students, and visitors alike.
