Circus Cooperative Cafe

Circus Cooperative Cafe is a worker-owned café located at 31 Putnam Ave near Harvard Square in Cambridge, MA, serving coffee, espresso, tea, pastries, and breakfast and lunch sandwiches daily from 8am to 3pm. Founded in September 2023 by a group of former Darwin’s Ltd. employees following that café’s closure, the team raised over $13,000 on GoFundMe to launch the venture in the same Putnam Ave. space. Every worker holds an ownership stake and a voice in daily operations, and the café doubles as a community gathering space where customers can browse and borrow books, zines, and board games.
