Yego Coffee

Yego Coffee is a family-owned specialty café and roastery located at 1212 Broadway in Somerville’s Teele Square neighborhood, founded in March 2023 by Rwandan-born Francois Tuyishime and his wife Fatuma. The shop sources beans directly from the Tuyishime family’s third-generation farm in southwestern Rwanda — a legacy rooted in over 80 years of coffee growing — and operates on a farm-to-cup model committed to paying farmers fair prices while keeping coffee affordable for customers. Named after the Kinyarwanda word for “yes,” a symbol of resilience and positivity, Yego Coffee has become a community gathering place that draws locals and those with ties to Rwanda alike.
