Chunky Bear Coffee Roasters

Chunky Bear Coffee Roasters is a small-batch coffee roasting shop located at 124 N. Mitchell Street in downtown Cadillac, Michigan, owned and operated by husband-and-wife team Jim and Lesa Wade, who launched their roasting operation in 2020 after relocating to northern Michigan and nurturing the dream for over 15 years. The shop opened its downtown Cadillac location in 2022 and is known for its cozy, whimsical atmosphere — built largely from locally sourced and donated materials, including wood from a nearby lumber mill, pallets from local businesses, and a bar crafted from a repurposed bowling alley lane. Deeply rooted in the local community, the Wades have emphasized collaboration with fellow small businesses and embrace a welcoming, conversation-friendly environment alongside their menu of freshly roasted coffee, espresso drinks, boba, and food offerings.
