Lotus Brew Coffee

Lotus Brew Coffee & Dry Bar is a queer-owned espresso bar and mocktail lounge located at 211 Diamond Ave SE in Grand Rapids, MI, founded by Maxwell Freeman after getting its start as a coffee bicycle at the Fulton Street Farmers Market. The shop is dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming space for the LGBTQ+ community and allies, offering specialty coffee, tea, and alcohol-free cocktails alongside a free banned book library, a document-free food pantry, and local artists’ work. Lotus Brew also serves as an active community hub, hosting weekly events such as drag brunches, queer writers groups, board game socials, and open mic nights — all open to everyone regardless of orientation or background.
