Loons Nest Coffee

Loons Nest Coffee is a seasonal coffee shop located at 7575 Gunflint Trail near Grand Marais, MN, founded by Bob Carlson, who also owns Carlson Roasting Co., an organic and fair trade coffee roaster based in Houston, MN. Carlson purchased the former Loon’s Nest Gift Shop in 2020, operated out of a food truck during renovations, and eventually opened a remodeled brick-and-mortar location on the mid-trail of the Gunflint. The shop serves a full coffee menu featuring Carlson Roasting Co. beans alongside freshly baked cardamom rolls, gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, and tomato basil soup, and is open seasonally from late May through October.
