Mocha Momma’s Coffee

Mocha Momma’s Coffee is a Black- and woman-owned nonprofit coffee shop located inside the Minneapolis Central Library at 300 Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis, serving premium craft coffees, teas, pastries, and made-to-order sandwiches. Founded by Melanie March Leehy and opened on June 1, 2022, the business is rooted in a decades-long vision — dating back to her 1990 nonprofit, The Dwelling — to use coffee as a vehicle for mentoring urban youth and fostering career employment opportunities in the community. Operating as a mentoring program under MARCH, Mocha Momma’s blends quality café offerings with a meaningful social mission, creating a welcoming gathering space for both library visitors and downtown Minneapolis residents.
