Yellowbird Coffee Bar is a community-focused neighborhood café established in 2019, located at 1168 Selby Avenue in the Lexington-Hamline (Lex-Ham) neighborhood of Saint Paul, MN. Founded by John and Suzette Peterson, the bar takes its name from a yellow bird that visited during the final days of John’s father’s life, and was born from a vision of creating a warm, welcoming gathering place for friends, family, and neighbors. The café serves specialty espresso drinks, seasonal beverages, teas sourced from local purveyor TeaSource, pastries from St. Paul’s La Boulangerie Marguerite, and house-made burritos — and has since expanded with a second location in Northeast Minneapolis.
