Protagonist Cafe

Protagonist Cafe is a literary-themed coffeehouse established in 2019, located at 1700 S. 9th Street in the Soulard neighborhood of St. Louis, MO. The café serves house-made pastries, freshly roasted small-batch coffee, espresso, and lattes, and is home to over 5,000 books displayed on a custom 27-foot bookshelf. The business accepts book donations during regular hours, with any books it cannot use donated to the Metro East Literacy Program.
