787 Coffee
About
787 Coffee is a Latinx and LGBTQ-owned specialty coffee brand founded in 2014, rooted in Puerto Rico’s coffee culture and operating multiple locations across New York City — including East Village, Wall Street, Chelsea, and the Upper East Side. The company grows, processes, and roasts its single-origin beans at Hacienda Iluminada, its own farm in Maricao, Puerto Rico, delivering fresh coffee to its cafés every two weeks. After Hurricane Maria devastated the farm in 2017 and forced the closure of all its shops, 787 Coffee rebuilt and reopened its flagship East Village location in 2019, going on to expand to New Jersey, Texas, and Mexico City while remaining committed to ethical farmer wages and a community-driven café experience.
