Recess Coffee and Baked Goods

Recess Coffee and Baked Goods is a specialty coffee shop and bakery owned by husband-and-wife team Harrison and Lexi Jones, located at 107 Black Mountain Avenue in Black Mountain, NC, which opened in February 2024. The shop is decorated in an old schoolhouse theme — complete with lockers and vintage memorabilia — and specializes in handcrafted sourdough breads, croissants, and craft coffee sourced from Colorado-based Sweet Bloom Coffee Roasters. Before settling in Black Mountain, the Joneses previously operated a bakery in Nepal, where Harrison was involved in anti-human trafficking work through the restaurant industry, and their vision for Recess is to serve as a community hub connecting multiple generations through great food, nostalgia, and shared stories.
