The Coffeeshop

The Coffeeshop is a family-owned specialty coffee shop located at 21234 Catawba Ave in downtown Cornelius, NC, operated by owner Kas Matos. Originally the space housed Thigs, a popular cocktail bar inspired by Matos’s travels to Amsterdam, before being transformed into a coffee-focused concept to better serve the growing community need for a walkable, work-friendly café. The Coffeeshop offers espresso drinks, cold brew, locally baked pastries, and even retained its liquor license — serving craft cocktails alongside coffee — while hosting rotating weekend food trucks and functioning as an informal coworking space on weekdays.
