Daughters Coffee and Books

Daughters Coffee & Books is an independent bookstore and café opened in April 2025 by owner Nicole Grinnell, located at 5410 NC-55, Suite AF in the Greenwood Commons shopping center in South Durham, NC. The shop offers a curated selection of new and used books alongside a literary-themed café menu featuring coffee from Carrboro Coffee Roasters and baked goods from Ninth Street Bakery, as well as a family-friendly children’s corner. Grinnell has positioned Daughters as a community hub for local authors and readers, with plans for events and collaborations to support local nonprofit work — filling a gap as the only independent bookstore for miles in the South Durham neighborhood.
