Mendenhall St. in Greensboro, NC, operating inside the historic Double Oaks mansion — a beautifully restored antebellum property that formerly served as a bed and breakfast and is now evolving into a community and cultural hub. Founded by Greensboro natives Austin Jeffries and Gray Johnston, Borough Coffee began as a mobile bike-powered coffee cart before establishing its brick-and-mortar presence at Double Oaks, where it serves locally roasted specialty coffee, locally baked pastries, and espresso drinks with a commitment to paying employees a livable wage of $15 per hour base pay.
