Black Rose Coffee is a roaster-direct, delivery-only artisan coffee business operated by Mike Schwartz and his wife Casey out of their home in the Sunnyside neighborhood of Southeast Portland, Oregon. Mike sources, roasts, and personally delivers small-batch coffee — often the same day it’s roasted — with free delivery across Portland, and takes particular pride in specializing in decaf and half-caff blends, having earned two medals for his decaf offerings. The name reflects both Mike’s German surname (Schwartz means “black”) and Portland’s identity as the Rose City, with coffee described as “the dark bloom.”
