Càphê Roasters

Founded in 2018 by Raymond John and Thu Pham, Càphê Roasters is Philadelphia’s first and only Vietnamese specialty coffee roaster and café, located at 3400 J Street in the Kensington neighborhood. A portion of profits supports 12 Plus, a Philadelphia-based education nonprofit that promotes educational equity in partnership with public high schools across Philadelphia and Camden, with Càphê also employing students and alumni from those schools. The business earned national recognition as a 2025 James Beard Award semifinalist, and has become a celebrated destination for its in-house roasted Vietnamese coffees and menu items such as egg coffee and bánh mì.
