Hendrix The Bus Coffee Shop is a one-of-a-kind mobile café located at 1920 Blossom St in Columbia’s Five Points neighborhood, operating out of a 2010 Thomas American school bus transformed into a Boho Chic lounge. Founded by husband-and-wife team Levy Gomez and Samara Ruiz — both originally from Cancún, Mexico — the concept was born in 2023 and established as a permanent coffee shop in October 2024, drawing inspiration from their Mexican heritage to offer distinctive menu items like horchata lattes, mazapán, and the fan-favorite cinnamon-ice latte. The business has quickly become a community staple, beloved by students and Columbia residents alike for its warm atmosphere, Italian-sourced specialty coffee, and deeply personal approach to hospitality.
