Sundog Coffee House
About
Sundog Coffee House is a locally owned coffeehouse located at 100 S. Egan Avenue in downtown Madison, South Dakota, serving espresso drinks, teas, bagels, and specialty coffee blends. Originally opened by Robert Honomichl and Samantha Contarino — who transformed the former Mochavino space into a community gathering spot known for craft beer, game nights, and a welcoming atmosphere for college students and locals alike — the shop operated for six years before closing in 2024 when the family relocated to Arizona. The business was revived under new ownership by Lisa and Tim Zandt, who rebranded it as Sundog Coffee House and have continued its tradition of community involvement, including hosting free coffee events for local veterans.
