Essence of Coffee

Essence of Coffee is an Australian-founded specialty coffee shop and roastery located at 908 Main Street in downtown Rapid City, South Dakota. Founded in 2007 and originally based in Perth, Western Australia, owners Michael and Lesley Fewson opened their Rapid City location in 2014 after discovering a lack of quality specialty coffee in the Black Hills region. The café operates as both a roastery and a full-service café, sourcing direct-trade green beans from around the world, roasting them in-house, and serving a menu of freshly made meals, baked goods, and pastries with an Australian-inspired flair.
