Sunshine Coffee – Zero Waste Coffee Shop

Sunshine Coffee is Wyoming’s first zero waste coffee shop, founded by Megan Johnson and opened in November 2023 at 731 E. Custer Street, inside the Laramie Plains Civic Center. The shop eliminates single-use items such as paper cups, plastic straws, and disposable cutlery, offering ceramic mugs for dine-in customers and a reusable mug library for to-go orders. Beyond sustainability, Sunshine Coffee is deeply community-driven, operating a “Neighborhood Account” that allows patrons to contribute funds so that individuals facing food insecurity can access meals and beverages free of charge.
